Peafowl

Peacocks and peahens can be kept at liberty or in a large netted-over aviary and are general fed grain all year round. If at liberty, the birds can be lured in to an aviary in February for protection from the fox, fed on breeder pellets, with the peahen allowed to sit and hatch her own poults. Once these are able to fly, the whole family can then be released again. The males are very vocal in the Spring and like to roost on house rooves.

They need worming with Flubenvet before the breeding season, and the poults do better if they are wormed before they are released.
